But leadership seems more focused on federal battles than on kitchen table issues. Saskatchewan families work hard and deserve a government that invests resource wealth in their future, not just in political confrontations with Ottawa.

Scott Moe has been Premier of Saskatchewan since 2018, making him one of the longest-serving current provincial premiers in Canada. His public list of 10 demands to the Carney government, issued after the 2025 election, reflects a premier who sees federal-provincial relations as a negotiation to be won, not a partnership to be maintained. That approach resonates strongly in Saskatchewan's political culture and less strongly in federal capitals. Critics argue that Moe's combativeness on climate policy has come at a long-term cost to the province's positioning in a transitioning energy economy, and that his fiscal management, while disciplined, has not transformed Saskatchewan's economic diversification. The province remains heavily commodity-dependent. He is a consistent, effective communicator of Saskatchewan's interests as he defines them. Reviewed as a citizen who believes every province deserves a vigorous advocate at the federal table — and who thinks the quality of that advocacy should be measured not just by how loudly a premier fights, but by what he wins for the people he serves.
