Andréanne Larouche

Andréanne Larouche has served as the Bloc Québécois Member of Parliament for Shefford — a riding in Quebec's Eastern Townships — since 2019. She has worked on files including seniors' affairs and the status of women, and represents a constituency that includes smaller urban centres and rural communities with real economic pressures. The Eastern Townships — like much of rural Quebec — have experienced significant housing price increases as remote workers and retirees from Montreal drove demand beyond what local incomes can sustain. This is by design: the Bloc exists to advance Quebec's interests within or outside Confederation, not to govern Canada. But the consequence is that on the federal economic files that most directly affect her constituents' daily lives — housing supply policy, EI reform, healthcare transfers — the Bloc's contribution has been to extract benefits for Quebec while declining the broader national accountability that governing requires. Her constituents in Shefford deal with the same cost-of-living pressures as Canadians everywhere. A party that can't govern and won't compromise on national economic frameworks leaves them without a voice in the decisions that shape their economic reality.
