Patrick Brown

Patrick Brown became Mayor of Brampton in October 2022 — an unusual civic career trajectory for someone who had been leader of the federal Conservative Party before his resignation in 2018 amid allegations of sexual misconduct that he has consistently denied. His prior career also included multiple terms as an Ontario MPP and as leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party before being ousted in 2018 by a caucus revolt that preceded his federal leadership bid. His move to the Brampton mayoralty represented a career reconstruction in a city that has one of the fastest-growing and demographically youngest populations in Canada.
