Lawrence MacAulay

Lawrence MacAulay has been in Parliament since 1988, which means he's been there longer than many of his colleagues have been alive. The PEI MP and Liberal stalwart has held multiple portfolios but his most important contribution might be the sustained, unglamorous defence of Canada's supply management system for dairy and poultry through every trade negotiation that tried to chip away at it. The preservation of supply management in its essential form, despite sustained American pressure, was one of the genuine achievements of the CUSMA renegotiation.
